Submitted by: Janet Barrett Walker Fri, 6 Aug 1999 11:31:51 EDT Moreno Cemetery I found an old cemetery in Caldwell county that the land has just been cleared. It only has three stones and someone has put 5 white crosses there. so here it is: Cemetery is on County Road 142 about half a mile from Highway 21 in Caldwell County. MORENO carved on a tree at the entrance, so I suppose this is the name of the cemetery. This land has just been cleared and there is a big pile of brush, which could possibly have some clues as to more graves here. The graves found are all very spread out over the area so I believe there could be more graves here that are not marked. A concrete fence area with two graves in it, very overgrown. ESRANIDADE (temp marker hared to read) Died Marzo aged 73 FNATIVIDAD MORENO (at bottom of cross) Fallecio 2-22-1946 Above is a concrete cross enclosed in area with above temp marker, also a plastic wreath with DAD in flowers and a wreath of plastic pine needles hung on cross, with thorn bushes all grown into it. Found left side of graveyard broken and leaning against a cut down tree: Senorita Martina (only half of stone with name there) Middle of cemetery: Concrete cross RECU ERDO AMI MADRE Next to this concrete cross in a row are 4 white crosses and then one more white cross over to the side.
