I am trying to locate information on Asa MOODY, my Great Great Great Grandfather. I have his CSA Military Record and his Confederate Pension. He is listed in the Caldwell Co. 1900 Census as a boarder living with a Lee YARBOROUGH. I am trying to find out when he died and where he is buried. I am also trying to find out if he had a daughter who married an Andrew J. Tomblin. They married in Caldwell County (Luling) on June 28, 1896. I am trying to find information on the children of Jim Henry SHERRY who married Annie Mae SMITH. I have found on the internet that they had 3 girls, but the girls' names were not listed; however, their husbands were. Annie Mae Smith Sherry and my grandfather were cousins and when my grandfather's mother died, Annie Mae helped raise some of my grandfather's siblings. I've been told that the girls' names were something like: Alta Lee (who married Harland McMULLEN), Zelpha and Velton. I cannot find anywhere any confirmation on these names. Isaiah and Babette GERNSBACHER WEIL moved to Luling between 1881 and 1890. He was a tailor, originally from Baden, Germany. Babette died in 1900, Isaiah in 1915. I am a relative of the Wm CRUSETURNER that is buried in the Martindale Cemetery. The name is spelled Gruseturner on the lsit, but the actual spelling that is on the marker is "C"ruseturner. I also wanted to let you know that I was recently down there and took a picture of every standing tombstone that I could find and am in the process of having it developed so that they can be emailed. The CARDWELL-MISENHEIMER Cemetery, Caldwell County, TX, is in deplorable condition. A group of descendants of those buried there are attempting to form an association to clean it up and keep it clean. We wish to learn more about those buried there and, more importantly, learn the identity of those buried in numerous unmarked graves. The cemetery was, at one time, known as Plum Creek Cemetery. I have a copy of a tintype of my g-g-grandfather, Absalom ROACH, who lived in the Lytton Springs area and is buried in Bunton Cemetery.In this photo, he is wearing a Masonic badge (which is large and appears to be pinned to his shirt) and is holding a square. Absalom came to Texas in late-1855 with the Cardwell family and others, from TN.Absalom married Anthony Cardwell's daughter, Melvina Jane, in TN. I have no idea when or where the photo was taken. Can someone help me? If he was a member of the Lytton Springs Lodge, what information is available? What is the significance, if any, of him being photographed holding a square?
