My ggrandmother was Anna (Annie) HEMPHILL RUSSELL. b. 2-26-1856 MS, d. 2-10-1938 Hallettsville, TX Lavaca, County. Married to Henry H. Russell in 7-20-1875. They raised 7 children in Hallettsville, TX. She had a brother named John Hemphill b. in 1858. Their parents were born in GA. I was told their family was from Caldwell, County. I have no way to trace her family history as I don't know her parents names. She may have been raised by an Aunt or uncle, and may have had more siblings. Does Annie or John Hemphill sound familiar to anyone out there? Would appreciate any information. Thank you, Sharon Sproles

Looking for grt-grandmothers grave. She died July 18, 1892. Her name was Laura Angeline/Angelina POE. She was daughter of Jas H TYLER. From what I found that my grandmother had written about her mothers death, (she said her mother & the 3 children were visiting Laura's parents in Collwell Co.) I assume she meant Caldwell Co. That is where I found a census with her on it in 1880. Thanks! Sammye Haney -- LSHaney@pcis.net

What appears to be a footstone was recently discovered in MISENHEIMER Cemetery, located in NW Caldwell Co. Texas. The head appears to be marked with a small flat stone upon which nothing has been carved. The footstone reads only M.P.S. This does not appear on any cemetery list. Will anyone with information as to who this person may have been please contact me? Thank you, Betty R. Braune

Louisa J. MISENHEIMER is buried in Misenheimer Cemetery located in NW Caldwell Co. Texas. The years of birth and death are missing. From the size of an ornamental iron cover, it has been assumed by many people that Louisa J. was a child; however, recent information indicates she may have been the first wife of Daniel Monroe Misenheimer, who was Louisa J. Ellison. I would very much appreciate hearing from anyone with the birth and death year of Louisa J. ELLISON. Thank you very much. Betty R. Braune

I am trying to find information about my husband's grandfather who lived in Luling, Texas in 1928. (Grandpa died in 1975. Grandfather supposedly murdered a police officer!!! Grandfather's name was Gregorio MENDOZA, b. ca 1898, d. 1975. The story goes that he shot and killed a Mexican police officer in Luling in 1928. But he was never prosecuted because they were both Mexican. He then fled to Mexico and hid out for a while before relocating to Laredo. I found him in Luling in the 1920 census and Laredo in the 1930 census, so I've verifed that part of the story. I'd like to see how much of the rest of the story is true. I'd appreciate any ideas on where to look. Thanks for your help. Lynne Bliss
