Samuel L. or H. MORGAN was born in Texas in May of 1872. In 1891 he married Nannie or Nancy McCANDLESS in Caldwell Co. Texas and they were living in Lytton Springs near Lockhart in that county in the 1900 Census. They had four children on that Census, Gracie, b.August 1892; Emma b.February 1894; Charles R. b.April 1896; and Lucy C. b.November 1898. Nancy's two brothers (William Lee McCandless and John Richard McCandless), her half sister Cordelia Tennessee DANCER (m. Sam NIXON) and her half brother Thomas Allen Dancer are accounted for but we have no clue where Samuel and Nancy went after 1900. Looking for information and descendants. Lucinda McCARLEY married Charles D. CRENSHAW in 1844. Who was Lucinda's mother? Her father was Samuel McCarley, one of Austin's Colonists. When Samuel was enumerated in Austin's colony census, his wife was Celia. Was Celia a second wife? At least ond descendant says so. Tory Crook
