Sarah MC GREW, Susan M. Sam EMORY & James M. SULLIVAN, Isaac, Harvey m. Araminta Carolina WHITE, and Elizabeth (all born in Ala) Children by "RIDDLEDY" were Stephen m. Julia SMITH, Malinda m.Hiram S. SMITH, Ellen m. Christopher T. HILL, John W. m. Susan Elizabeth MC CRABB and James (all born in Texas) Samuel born abt 1799, entered Texas 1835. Possible bro. Stephen A.; poss. sisters Sarah A. m. James COVEY(abt 1786) and wife Sarah(KELSEY)COVEY came to Caldwell County from Montgomery Co., AR before the 1860 census. Sarah died after 1860. James was still living in Caldwell Co. in 1870. I think that James was the father of my ggggrandmother Sinia (COVEY) GUTHRIE(b Sep 17, 1818) (who settled in Kaufman Co.) Mariah COVEY(Jan 13, 1816) married Joel SANDERS in Pulaski Co., AR on the same day and place as Sinia and Ephraim GUTHRIE which leads me to believe they were sisters. Is James their father? Any help on this family would be appreciated.

I am seeking any information about James YATES and his wife, Susan AYRES of Caldwell County, Texas. I believe he was born in England in 1838 to John Yates. He arrived in Caldwell County on Christmas Day in 1847 or 1848. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in April of 1861.

GOVER and HAWKES. Sam Gover was gg grndfthr and is buried at the Short Cemetery outside of Boerne, Tx. Am looking for any of his relatives, including maybe the names Short and NEWMAN. My grandfather was Louis P.(Patrick?) Gover and he had 4 wives.(?) I believe the first one was Orie May JUDD and they were supposed to have had one daughter. I found a name, Louisa Idell Gover, born July 8th, 1907 that might be her. G grandfather Louis P Gover married Emily Hawkes in Luling on August 29th, 1880. Her family came over from England and I believe there was at least one female relative of hers married in that area around that time. Any info would be most welcome!
