PITTSBURG – Lavelle Arnold, 88, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in Pittsburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at First Methodist Church in Pittsburg with Rev. Richard Heyduck officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Erman Smith Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers are Alan Brison, Sonny Brison, Wayne Arnold, Cary White, Jim Archer, and Alton Rape. Honorary Pallbearers are Tom Ellis, Bill Frazier, Gray McWhorter, Ted Newsome, Jack Parker, George Richards, Ron Rutz, and L.M. Crocker.

Mr. Arnold was born April 13, 1923 in Upshur County to Clayton and Winnie Carpenter Arnold.. He was a member of the Rotary Club and First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg. He worked in oil refining for 41 years.

He is survived by wife, Huelene Arnold; two sons, Dennis Craig Arnold of Pittsburg, and Norman Arnold of Houston; one grandchild, Blake Arnold of Houston; two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Clint Arnold of Pittsburg; and Wayne Arnold of Gilmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.
