CAMP COUNTY - ROSE HILL CEMETERY Nita DeWoody, age 53, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016, in Pittsburg. Nita was born December 1, 1962 in Pittsburg. She earned a Bachelors Degree in both Education and Science, and a Masters Degree in PA. She was a physician assistant in the medical field, and a Mary Kay consultant. Mrs. DeWoody was also active in the community, having serving as a board member and past president of the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center, a member of the Pittsburg/Camp County Chamber of Commerce, and was previously a board member of the Texas Academy of P.A. Nita was a woman of great faith, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. She is survived by her husband: Kent DeWoody; her parents: J.W. and Mary Hooper, of Pittsburg; two sons: Kole DeWoody and Reece DeWoody, both of Tyler; a granddaughter: Annabeth DeWoody; two sisters: Wendy Warren and husband Jimmy of Longview, and Christi Denney and husband John of Pittsburg; her step-father: Larry Loyd of Ore City; as well as numerous other family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Gaynell Hackler Loyd. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 17 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bro. Steve Packer officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, at the funeral home.
