PITTSBURG - Services for Phil V. Veasley, 82, of Pittsburg, will be noon Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg, with the Rev. Lewis D. L. Fluellen officiating. 

Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Veasley died December 7, 2008, at his home.

Born August 9, 1926, in Pittsburg, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a Baptist and retired from Lone Star Steel. 

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Lee Veasley; sons, James Earl Veasley, Thomas Earl Veasley; daughter, Connie Gail Briggs; sisters, Vodella Kennedy and Ruthie Farmer; and brothers, Sam Veasley and Aree Veasley.
