Chapel Meeting House Cemetery

" Cass County Cousins, Center Grove Church Almost at Center of County by Reba Byrd. " there is no page number or date on this page.“The Center Grove Baptist Church and cemetery located five miles north of Linden amid giant oak trees is almost in the center of Cass County.  We have found no record of when the first church was built, but it was mentioned in a deed dated February 16, 1865.  "" On that date ( February 16, 1865 ), Charles Graham conveyed to the heirs of James B. Thompson 210 acres of land situated and lying on the waters of Fraziers Bayou, " excluding two acres of land in a square to include the house called the Chapel Meeting House ".  There is a small cemetery here, (I am not sure this has been found and recorded in the Cass County Cemetery Book.)  This Chapel and cemetery are located south of the present church and cemetery.  "“The first burial with tombstone in the newer cemetery was that of Elizabeth Caroline Graham, b. 1830 d. 1851.  She was the daughter of Charles Graham.  "

The above information about this Chapel Meeting House does not tell you what side of the road, south of the present Church and cemetery it is located. I did not know there might be another cemetery also. If it is still there it must be very small and very well over grown, for I did not see it the last time I was at this Center Grove Cemetery. I made it a point to look for this Meeting House, or should I say where it might had been.  I guess the next time I get down that way.  I'll have to walk both sides of the road, but who is to say that is the same road or path back in 1851?
