Miss Mary Beth Shaddix left Tuesday morning for New York City, where she goes as representative of the Sigma lots Chi social sorority of Dodd College, Shreveport, LA, to the national biennial convention.

Mary Beth was made president of this sorority in April, also chosen as their representative. She was joined at Marshall by other members of the party. They will visit Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia on their trip, arriving Saturday morning for a four days convention. They will be entertained in the Pennsylvania Hotel while there, and will be given a sight seeing tour over the city, a trip to Coney Island, and will see other places of interest. They are expected to return via Shreveport about June 27.

Mrs. W. S. Glass of Daingerfield is visiting her son A. L. Glass and wife this week.

Mrs. Viola Abernathy of Houston, is visiting relatives here this week.

J. H. Evans, wife and children have returned to their home in Malakoff after a visit with Mrs. Evans parents W. D. Daniel and wife. They were accompanied home by Misses Dorothy and Evelyn Daniel.

Rev. Wm. H Pitman and family of Lindale were guests of friends here Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mrs. A E. Starnes, and Fladger McCain went to Greenville Wednesday to attend the funeral of H. P. Weems Wednesday, they will go on to Dallas and bring Mrs. W. B. Duncan home after several weeks visit in Dallas and Mineral Wells.

R. P. Newby and wife, J. M. Hervey and wife were guests of J. W. Traylor and wife in Naples Sunday.

Born to L. L. Cook and wife a boy June 15th.

Mrs. J. L. Lumpking of Memphis Tenn., is visiting her sister Mrs. D. L. Sain.
