Benny Joe Solley

Benny Joe Solley age 77, of Cass, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 16, 2014, at his residence, after a brief battle with cancer.

Benny was born July 12, 1936, in Cass, Texas, to Elbert and Ola Spivey Solley. He was retired from GE Railcar; was a member of Cass Baptist Church; and loved gardening, fishing and visiting with anyone who would listen. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elton Solley, Leonard Solley, William Solley; two sisters, Hazel Ballard, and Evelyn Parchman.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria Nichols Solley of Cass, Texas; his son, Joe Ben Solley and wife Kathy of Doddridge, Arkansas; two brothers, Jim Solley and wife Carol of Wills Point, Texas, Tommy Solley and wife Carla of Doddridge, Arkansas; three sisters, Nell Bishop of Gilmer, Texas, Helen Wilbanks of Bloomburg, Texas, Laverne Endsley of Doddridge, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jo Solley and Kevin Joe Solley both of Doddridge, Arkansas; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Cass Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Jason York officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Cass Cemetery, Cass, Texas.
