CASS COUNTY OBITS CITIZENS JOURNAL, ATLANTA, TX - 20 SEP 1927 MR. A. B. BENNETT Mr. A. B. Bennett died in a sanitarium at Texarkana Saturday, where he had undergone a serious operation for bladder and kidney trouble. The body was bought back Saturday evening to the home of his son J. E. Bennett, three miles west of town, and was carried on to Avinger for burial Sunday afternoon. Rev. G. K. Williams, of Hughes Springs and Rev. S. D. Lunsford, of Linden conducted the funeral service, which was attended by a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mr. Bennett was 73 years old, having spent a number of years in Cass County, and made a success in life, principally in the lumber business. He was a good man and numbered his friends by the score. He is survived by five sons and two daughters: J. E. Bennett, C. A. Bennett and Mrs. Will Hill of Linden, G. G. Bennett, of Lanier, a. L. Bennett and Mrs. Alva McCoy, of Beaumont, and E. B. Bennett, 73, of Linden, Texas, died in Texarkana at 12:15 pm Saturday. He is survived by five sons, J. E., C. A. and G. G. Bennett of Linden; A. B. Bennett of Beaumont, E. B. Bennett, of Derry, La; two daughters, Mrs. J. L. McCoy of Beaumont, and Mrs. W. A. Hill of Linden; two brothers E. W. and C. O. Bennett Lassater, Texas; one sister Miss Amelia Bennett of Lassater. The body was sent Saturday evening to the family home at Linden. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Avinger cemetery. Burial: Avinger Cemetery Avinger Cass County Texas, USA
