Mabel and Jewell Kilgore Gilbert lived on a farm near Joy. She was born 1
June 1882 in Greenville, Hunt County, TX to John Whitfield & Louisa
Montalvia Hart Kilgore. They moved to Clay County when she was a child.
She attended Deergrove School and in 1901 married Mabel Gilbert. He was
born in 1866 in Fannin Co. TX and died at Joy in 1919. Both are buried in
the cemetery at Joy.
