Kennedy and Ruth Cleo Haygood and Benjamin Franklin Kennedy around 1910-
1920.
The Haygood children had been in the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in
Lake Charles, La. after their father passed away, and something brought
all of them to Gainesville. Ruth and Ben were my grandparents. Cullom
my great Uncle.
Because they were raised in an orphanage I am starting with very little
information, anyone with any information would be more than welcomed.
Cullom was born Francis Cullom Haygood in 1891 somewhere in Texas and
Ruth Cleo Haygood was born in Dec. 1896 Avoylles Parish, Markville, La.,
their sister Margaret also came to Gainesville, she was born in 1893 not
sure if Texas or Louisiana. Their parents were Francis Marion Haygood
and Louisa "Lou" E. Powell. Again any help appreciated.

descendants settled in Cooke and Grayson Counties in Texas. Stephen E.
Elliott, born in 1826, married Nancy Margaret Thompson, born in 1838. We
have the names of all their children and extensive information on Nancy
Margaret's Thompson family but we have been unable thus far to connect
Stephen to his Elliott parents. Stephen died in 1896 and is buried in
our Thompson Family Cemetery in the Coesfield Community of Cooke County.
My great-great-grandparents, William and Nancy(Petty)Thompson lived with
Stephen and Nancy for the last few years of their life. They died
between 1874 and 1879. Nancy Margaret(Thompson)Elliott is buried in
Jesse, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. If have information as to the parents

WYATT, who lived in Cooke County (Gainesville area), then Montague County
(St. Jo, Texas). He was born 10 April 1828 in Virginia and married his
first wife there. He moved to Texas after the Civil War. He fought on
the Confederate side and was taken prisoner by Union Forces and remained
captive for several years. When he walked back to Virginia, he learned
he had been declared dead, and his first wife had remarried. Rather than
disrupt her new family, he decided to leave the state and came to Texas
with a son, James. In Gainesville he married wife #2, my great-
grandmother, and they had my grandfather, William Robert Wyatt, and two
daugters, Margaret and Ella. When wife #2 died, he married Isabelle
Coley in St. Jo, Texas, and had a third family with her. I have the
names of those children: Odelia Curtis, James Cleveland, George Whitt,
Ida Mae and Irb Boggess Wyatt.
James Morgan Wyatt died in St. Jo, TX 24 Jan 1905. He served as sheriff
of Montague County at one time.

I have some letters he wrote back to Ohio from
Muenster dated 1893. Written in "Dutch German" so
I cannot read them and so far even those persons
that can read German have not been able to read
this dialect of "Dutch German". I do know that he
married, as he sent a wedding photo back to Ohio.
I have no other info on him or his wife. Any help

think) In his will the second wife is refered to as A.E. Blanton. The
adoption papers and will are in the courthouse in Cooke Co. Lee Anna was
my great grandmother she said John raised them. She is the one that told
me her dad died in a gun fight in Montague Co. As she was a small child
she wouldn't have remembered but she did believe it, so I assume she was
told this by her uncle. Any help would be apprecited.
