In her letters she spoke of her family “Gran and Uncle Oscar” who still lived in Indian Territory and they were apparently a neighbor of the Midkiff’s. I believe their name was White, but I am not sure at all. Eula would write about “the store” in Gainesville and customers coming in. However, she never told the name of the store. Last year I went to Gainesville and spent some time in the Library going through the pioneer histories of the town and could find nothing on a Goggins family. Eula spoke of “mama” and her brother “Bud”, but they must have had a last name different from hers. Do you know anything about this Goggins family? I have all these old letters Eula wrote included in my book. I would love to let her family know about them if I could find her family. He was in Ellis & Johnson Co 1870 & '80 census reports; track him into Hood Co 1900 and then totally lose him, not knowing if he died there and I'm not locating that or he moved on. This morning I received info that in the Cooke Co Dye Cemetery there is a: Davis, J.J., unfortunately no dates. Does anyone have any information on this J. J. Davis that might help me connect or know he does not connect to me? John J. was enumberated as "J. J." on the '80 & 1900 census reports; I've known of no reason for him to go to Cooke Co but his son-in-law Wm I. Cogburn supposedly had kin there, though I've not been able to make that connection; and a daughter's son- in-law's name was Dye though I do not know where he was from.
