Young people today will be surprized to know that I went to the theatre on Saturdays for 5 cents.  A nickel that is.  I saw a regular movie of Tom Mix, William S. Hart or another western star of the day.  Also, I saw a cartoon or comedy, a Pathe News and a serial called the Green Archer.  All of this for only 5 cents.  Popcorn was 5 cents for a big sack and a huge dill pickle was only 5 cents also.  Some women wore hats to the theatre (not to the Saturday matinee).  By the way, the refreshmnents were available only at a small shop next door to the theatre and not in the theatre itself.  I find it hard to realize I go that far back.  I must be getting old.
