When Sue Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans of Crane, graduated from Crane High about 1974 or 1975, she was, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful, attractive and finest girls who ever came out of Crane Schools.  Our Lions Club chose her as our Sweetheart.  During the year, we entered her as a contestant for Lions District Queen.  Of course, she won.  Then our huge Lions District 2T3, which covers all of West Texas from Odessa to El Paso and from Andrews to the Big Bend, entered her in the Texas State Lions Queen Contest.  Of course, she won again.  She became the Lions Sweetheart of 40,000 Lions (all men then).  We considered this a coup for her, our Lions Club and Crane.
