Obituary
CRANE TX.
Norman Plagens, 70 of Rankin, died Friday, May 25, at his
home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May
28, at the First Baptist Church in Rankin with the Rev.
Jim Medley offciating. Burial will be in the Rankin
Cemetery with services under the direction of
Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1930 in Bryan. He was a veteran of
the Korean Conflict. He married Georgia Pokorny on May
29, 1956 in Wall. He was a farmer and a truck driver in
the oilfield. He had lived in Rankin for 30 years and was
a member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in dead by a daughter, Marilyn Plagens in
1980, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Plagens of Rankin;
three sons, Freddy Plagens of Hondo, Ronald Plagens of
Clinton, Ark., and Steven Plagens of Lytle; four
daughters, Teresa Morgan of Midkiff, Jo James of
Rockwall, Rene Browning of Crane, and Gail Glenn of
Midland; eight Brothers, Milton Plagens of San Angelo,
Edward Plagens of St. Lawrence, Frank Plagens of Dallas,
Clarence Plagens of Rockwall, Donald Plagens of Hamilton,
James Plagens of Big Spring, Earl Plagens of Colorado
City, and Robert Plagens of Bryan College Station;
sister, Alice Pearl Lero of Bryan, and 20 grandchildren.
A visitation will be at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home
today, May 27, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
