Obituary George H. Cunningham   Dallas Morning News, April 7, 1914, page 14 Waxahachie, Tex. April 6.  Caspt. George H. Cunningham, 84, pioneer settler of Ellis County, died this morning at 3 o'clock. after a short illness. He came to Ellis County in 1849 and for a number of years was deputy surveyor for the coumties of Ellis, Johnson, Navarro and Hill.  He was then elected district surveyor for Robertson, Leon, Freestone, Limestone, Navarro, Hill, Ellis, Johnsoon, Tarrant and Dallas.  He was one of the largest land holders and wealthiest men of Ellis County.   Copyright © 2008-2016, Ellis County TXGenWeb.
