There are two Day Cemeteries. This one formerly known as Ward Prairie
Cemetery.
The other one is a private one on Fryer
Land.

Background: William Clark Willie Day gave the land for this cemetery. There are
no Days buried here. Most are descendants of William W. Willard and James
William Orand. In late 1870, William and his wife Tilitha and their eighteen
children (many with families of their own) started out for Texas from Tennessee.
Directions: Located 4 miles north-east of Fairfield. Travel on North on 488 from
Fairfield, turn to right on CR 228 (south side of road) near the Ward Prairie Baptist
church & community. About a mile to cemetery down bending road on right.
Note - Many unmarked graves are in this cemetery.
