We were sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Ira Mathew Ware of Shiloh who was laid to rest in Point Enterprise Saturday Evening.

Mexia Daily News obituary notice dated March 16, 1967:
Graveside rites will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Mexia City Cemetary for Wallace Peyton Ware, 62, former Mexia resident who died Wednesday afternoon at 5 in Memorial Hospital at Lufkin. Mr. Ware, a native of Mexia, was in the paint and body work. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church at Lufkin, where he had lived for the past 20 years. Officiating will be the Rev. H.E. Small and the Rev. Lewis Abbott. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Riddle Funeral Home. Initial funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 in Gipson's Funeral Home at Lufkin. He was a brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs.Horace Hatcher of Mexia. Other survivors are his wife of Lufkin; a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Vinson, of Bay City, three sons, Charles Ware, of Lufkin, Stanley Ware of Wichita Falls, and A.P. Ware stationed at Shepperd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls; a brother, H.C. Manning, of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. P.D. Cauley of Kingsville, and Mrs. W.D. James, of McGregor; and 10 grandchildren.

Mrs. Rubye "Jewell" (McDowell)  Ware, 68, of Lufkin died early this morning in a Lufkin Hospital. Mrs. Ware was born on June 8, 1911 in Nelda, Ok. She was a surgical nurse and a member of the Angelina College of Vocational Nurses and the Texas League of Vocational Nurses. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lufkin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Dr. Herman Hendrick officiating. The body will lie in state at Blair-Stubbs in Mexia from two to three p.m. at which time graveside services will be held at Mexia Cemetary. Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. Mrs. Ware is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Peggy Ware Thomas of Waco; three sons, Charles R. Ware, Lufkin, Peyton Ware, Allen, Stanley G. Ware, Wichita Falls; two brothers, Ed McDowell, Abilene, Roy L. McDowell, Waco; three sisters, Mrs. E.S. McRoberts, Shreveport, La, Mrs. H.B. Hatcher, Mexia, Mrs. R.C. McDonnell Sr. , Orange; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Teague, Funeral services for Sidney Lee Collins, 71, of Route 2, Mexia, will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Lawence Chapel. Mr. Collins, a native of Freestone County, died Monday night about 7:30 at City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was an oil field employee and a member of the Church of Christ. Conducting the rites will be Rev. Tom I. Sandlin, pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Assisting will be the Bill Hale, minister of the Teague Church of Christ. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetary, under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Home. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donnal Timmons of Huntsville, two sisters, Mrs. Weldon Curry, Teague and Mrs. M.F. Frost, of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
