LINA MAE SHIELDS Funeral services were held Sunday, February 21, 1993, in Fairfield for Freestone County native Lina Mae Shields, 81, of Fairfield who died Saturday, Feb. 20.

Mrs. Shields was born October 28, 1911, in Freestone county, and was a homemaker and member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

She was married to John C. Shields on January 30, 1932.

Services were conducted at 2:00 PM at Capps Memorial Chapel with Rev. Royce Sanders and the Rev. Dwight Atchley officiating.

Special music, "Amazing Grace," was sung by Sarah Childs, and Steven and Teresa Black sang "Softly and Tenderly" and "In The Garden". Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery in the Turlington Community, Freestone Co.

Pallbearers wre Barney Crouch, Barry Capps, Glendale Black, Steve Black, Warren Awalt, Lee Horton and Terry Moran. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Casey, Jr., Ray Dodd, Cliff Anderson and George Patterson.

Mrs. Shields is survived by her husband, John C. Shields of Fairfield; two daughters, Vannette Horton of Conway, Ark, and Johnnie Moran of Mesquite; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Brady Robert Lee of Waco.

Arrangements were made by Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
