Richard Virgil 'Virge'
Blacklock was born Feb
14, 1902 in Callahan Co. TX. Virge married twice, first in 1920 to Opal
Robertson, having son, Glen
L. 'Bill' Blacklock
born in 1921 in Purmela, Coryell Co. TX. They divorced and
Virge married Lorene
Estell Wallace Nov 2,
1931 in Lovington, NM. They had five children; Kenneth
Richard born 1933 Hill
Co., died in 1934 of pneumonia. Daughters; Bessie
Fern, Janet, Barbara Ellen and Gloria Jean
were born 1935-1945 in Callahan Co. TX.
Virge and Lorene moved to
Post Garza Co. TX, joining brothers, Bunt,
Pat, and Tom. He
lived near Close City, on top of the Caprock, farming until retirement,
when he moved to Post and settled near the farm of his brother Pat.
Glen L. 'Bill'
Blacklock lived in Fort Worth, he
died in March, 2002. Fern married
L.D. 'Buster' Adams
and lives in Stanton. Barbara
married Charles
Rushing and lives in Phoenix, AZ.
Gloria
married Richard Gee
and lives in Seattle, WA.
Virge died April 2, 1976 in
Tahoka, Lynn Co. Tx, and Lorene
died March 3, 1988
in Midland, Tx. Both are buried in Terrace Cemetery, Post Garza Co.
TX.
