VanBevers, Clell - 1st Lt Clell VanBevers, son of Mr & Mrs John VanBevers, husband of Jimmy Gifford VanBevers, attended ETSTC, SFA and Durant, Okla. Colleges. Entered Air Corps 1942; trained at Stuttgart, Ark., Boise, Idaho, and in Miss. and Utah. Now on duty in Nevada.
VanCleve, Clyde F - A/S Clyde F VanCleve, son of Mr & Mrs C E VanCleve, attended school in Kilgore. Entered Naval Reserves in 1945. Trained at San Diego, Cal. and now on duty there. 
Vanderford, J W - S/Sgt J W Vanderford, brother of Mrs Cecie Kirkley of Gladewater was the first volunteer from Gregg County. Entered Army 1941; trained at Ft Bliss, Texas and Camp Callan, Cal. Has served somewhere in the Pacific since June 1943. Has a Bronze Star. Now on duty at Luzon.
Vanmeter, Charles T - S 1/c Charles T Vanmeter, son of Rev & Mrs O T Vanmeter, attended White Oak HS. Entered Navy 1944; trained at Great Lakes, Ill. Has served in India, Africa, France, Argentina, and Italy. Now on duty at sea. 
Vanmeter, Frank L - Pfc Frank L Vanmeter, son of Mr & Mrs Frank E Vanmeter, graduate of Kilgore HS. Entered Marine Corps 1943; trained at San Diego, Cal. Has served in Pelieu, Okinawa, and South Pacific. Holds Sharpshooter Medal, now on duty in the Marianas.
VanMeter, Harold W - Cpl Harold W VanMeter, son of Mr & Mrs S T VanMeter, attended School in El Dorado, Kan. Entered Army 1943; trained at Camp Hood, Texas and San Luis Obispo, Cal. Served in four Major Battles. Now on duty in the Southwest Pacific area.
Vaughan, Gaylord C - T/Sgt Gaylord C Vaughan, son of Mrs George Vaughan, husband of Dorothy Young, graduate of Kilgore HS, attended Kilgore College. Entered Army Air Corps Sept. 1942; trained at Majors Field, Texas. Served in Italy, where now on duty. Has Air Medal with Cluster.
Veasey, Judson E - Sgt Judson E Veasey, son of Mr & Mrs J E Veasey, husband of Evelyn Holt Veasey. Entered Army 1942; trained at Camp Wolters, and Camp Wallace, Texas and Camp Roberts, and Ft Ord, Cal. Served in New Guinea, Netherlands, East Indies. Holds one Bronze Star. Now on duty at Luzon.
Verner, Jessie C - Pfc Jessie C Verner, son of Mr & Mrs Dave Verner, husband of Oretha Fern Kennedy Verner. Entered Army 1942; trained at various camps in US. Has served in Aleutians, France and Germany, where now on duty. Has Pre-Pearl Harbor, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star and AP Ribbons.
Verner, Malcom E - PTR 2/c Malcom E Verner, son of David E Verner, husband of Irene Salter Verner, attended school in Mineola. Entered Seabees 1942; trained at Norfolk, Va. Served in Newfoundland, Saipan and Tinian. Holds Expert Rifleman's Medal and Ribbons. Now on duty in the Marshalls.
Vernon, Earlene - WAVE Earline Vernon, daughter of Mr & Mrs Crawford Vernon, attended Gladewater HS. Entered WAVES 1944; trained at Hunter College, NY. Served at Corpus Christi, Texas, where now on duty.
Vinson, Herman F - RC 2/c Herman F Vinson, son of Mr & Mrs E F Vinson, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Navy 1944; trained at San Diego and Oakland, Cal. Served in the South Pacific, where on duty. Has AP Ribbons.
Vinson, Marion L - PHM 2/c Marion L Vinson, son of Mr & Mrs E F Vinson, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Navy 1944; trained at San Diego, Cal. and still on duty there.
