An obituary:  Patrick E King, age 46.  Deceased was born in Ireland, County Mayo, July 22, 1835 and came to this country when he was 24....the 11 last years having been in Texas.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Mrs Hettie Millinder, daughter of Mr John Hern of Belleview.

March 10, 1883

Miss Sallie Nichols, the Belle of Longview, is on a short visit to Wills Point.

Dr Lawrence has a telephone in operation between his residence and the Jennings Drug Store. It is a great convenience and has attracted much attention this week.  The distance is about half mile and works splendidly.

Lafayette Smith died Thursday morning.

Mr J M Perdue, principal of West Mountain School, is one of the most successful educators of th the country.  He educated a young lady, made her his assistant in school and last, but not least, has made her his wife.
