Nuptial Unions

Earpville, November 10, 1882

Last week and this week witnesses the signalization of four more of the many marriages that Longview is to have in the near future. First was that of Mr. Ed Crain and the Rev. B.W. Brown's beautiful daughter Miss Lula last Thursday, Novermber 2nd.

The ceremony was strictly private and the service was read in a feeling manner by Rev. I. Alexander of Kilgore. Only the relatives and the attendants were present.

Monday evening November 6th a novelity was introduced when a double wedding was being celebrated at the residence of Dr. Job Taylor at Earpville when Mr. R.E. Ayres and Miss Laura Stevens and Mr. James Whitney and Miss Della Stevens were married by the Rev. J.J. Mathis of Henderson.

Wednesday evening November 8th, Mr. Hatch May and Miss Mattie Shields were married at the residence of the bride's father by the Rev. J.T. Poe.

The interested parties of all the young have started their new lives under the most flattering auspices, and with sincere congratulations and good wishes from their friends.

The remark has been made that these four brides were among the prettiest of the young ladies of Longview and certain it is, there is a large measure of truth in this.

We trust the future life of these newly married pairs may be as bright as the weather that has in its clear brilliancy smiled on the weddings, and we wish them a long, happy and prosperous life.
