Nora League is kindly offering to do lookups from the following reference materials. Please understand that this is done on a volunteer basis, in spare time. Please be direct, to the point, and specific. Do NOT send a general lookup request such as: Please see if there are any Jones in the Va. Residents book.  Yes, there will be Jones.....Jones are in every book. Please be specific giving an exact name, birth/death/marriage date, state, county, time period lived there, etc.

I can do lookups on the following publications, as time permits:

Marriages of Some VA Residents, 1607-1800 by Wulfeck;

Abstracts of East Texas Newspapers, 1839-1856, by Linda C. Nicklas (abstracted from Clarksville, Marshall, Nacogdoches and San Augustine papers);

Marriage Records of Washington Co., TN, by Grammer & Mullins; Pioneer Women of the West by Ellett, which includes a few women from TN, KY, NC, OH, MI, and IL, 1780-1800;

The Handy Book for Geologists by Everton;

The Sevier Family History by Madden & Bales;

The Bradshaw Family by James C. Bradshaw;

The McClellans of AL & AR by McLaine.

General Officers of the Confederate Army, 1861-1865, by Gen. Marcus J. Wright;

Colonial Families of the Southern States of America, (a history and genealogy of colonial families who settled in the colonies prior to the Revolution) by Stella Pickett Hardy.

I also have a book titled "Tennessee Cousins" by Worth Ray ... data in this book is not always totally correct, but I found that it does have a lot of useful information on Eastern Tennessee.

Tennessee Newspaper Extracts and Abstracts, Marriage, death, and other items of genealogical/historical interest, the Knoxville Press, 1816-1830, Vol. I.

Regards, Nora League
