Monday - November 10, 1930 J.M. Adams, Local Resident, dies in Marshall Sunday. Well Known Longview Man Died in Texas & Pacific Hospital After Illness James M Adams, whose home is Longview, passed away at the Texas & Pacific hospital in Marshall at 12 o/clock noon, Sunday Nov. 9. He had been in ill health for about two months and had been confined to his bed four or five weeks. J.M. Adams was born in Camden, Ala; but has lived in Longview for the past 20 years. He began working for the Texas & Pacific railroad in 1911 and has been with them ever since. In seniority he was one of the oldest engineers on the road. he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomative Engineers. On April 10, 1920, he was married to Miss Annie E.Castleberry, daughter of the late J.R. Castleberry. He joined the Presbyterian church when he was only a boy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Knights Templar and The Moslah Temple Shrine at Fort Worth. The different divisions of the Masonic Lodge had in him an active and faithful member. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today and burial will be at Grace Hill cemetery. Rev. M. W. Castrodale of the Presbyterian church and the Rev John L. Whorton, of the First Baptist church will conduct the funeral services, after which the Blue Lodge will take charge of the body. The Blue Lodge will be accompanied by an escort of Knights templar. Pallbearers are as follows, J. F. Burke, W. J. Padon, C. R. Hilis, W. K. Eckman, A. L. Davis, M. T. Flanagan, E. A. Morgan, E. E. Crain, and W. D. Northcutt.
