Austin, Lanore Leach KILGORE -- Graveside services for Lanore Austin, 77, of Dallas, will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006, at the Danville Cemetery, with the Reverend Stan Copeland officiating. Ms. Austin died Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in Dallas. She was born October 30, 1928, to Ras and Dutch Leach in Kilgore. Lanore graduated from Kilgore High School in 1946. She attended Kilgore College, where she was a member of the Rangerettes. Ms. Austin went on to graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1958, with a degree in elementary education. She taught school in the Pasadena Independent School District, Diboll ISD, and Nacogdoches ISD. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Nacogdoches. Lanore was known for the beautiful quilts she made, her wonderful pecan tassies, her affection for the Dallas Cowboys, and her love for her two grandsons, Mason and Mitchell Moses. A great day for her and them was getting to play games together, using only her imagination to take them to exciting places with great adventures. Her kind, gentle spirit will be missed by the people who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gene Leach of Lubbock. Ms. Austin is survived by two sons, Johnny Austin of Austin, Larry Austin of Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Mike Moses of Dallas; two grandsons, Mitchell Moses, a student at Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California, and Mason Austin, a junior at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
