Anderson, Betty Janice Perrin Barbee Memorial services for Betty Perrin Barbee Anderson, 76, of Liberty City, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2007, at her home, 13205 CR 3111, Joy Wright Mountain Road in Liberty City, with Pastor James V. Peoples officiating. A private memorial service will follow at a later date in Tulia. Ms. Anderson died October 9, 2007, at her home in Gladewater after a lengthy illness. Ms. Anderson was born October 5, 1931, in Tulia, Swisher County, to Ernest and Opal Perrin, who preceded her in death. Ms. Anderson was also preceded in death by her husbands, J.G. "Jack" Barbee Jr., and Andrew J. "Andy" Anderson; son, James "Turnip" Barbee; and brother, James F. "Jim" Perrin. Ms. Anderson retired from a long line of careers, from truck driving to retiring as an insurance agent with American National Insurance in 1987. She spent her golden years getting to know her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, making new friends, traveling and her yearly Christmas letters and enjoying her time on the farm, "The Turnip Patch." Ms. Anderson is survived by her six children, Sue and Charles Fellers of Houston, J.G. "Jay" and Judy Barbee of Higgins, Matt Barbee of Tulia, Jackie and Dan Gamble of Gladewater, Kelly and Wayne Bray of Amarillo, and Lisa Whisenhunt of Amarillo; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Ernestine Aldridge and Judy Been, both of Tulia; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and heart friends; and constant companion, B.J. Visitation will be held with the family after the services for Betty Barbee Anderson on Saturday, October 13, 2007, to share memories, good food and good times.
