Arthur Jr., Robert Jonas "Bob" MARSHALL - Services for Robert "Bob" Jonas Arthur Jr. will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Hallsville with Pastor Shinia Kelsey officiating. Interment will be in Memory Park Cemetery in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home. Mr. Arthur died July 13, 2007, in Longview. Born August 17, 1934, in Longview, to Henry Jonas and Martha Malina James Arthur, he graduated from Karnack High School and attended Kilgore Jr. College and the Police Academy. Mr. Arthur served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Arthur married Jo Ann Wheeler on December 14, 1974. Bob worked for AT&T for 33 years and was on the board of Telco Credit Union for 35 years. He was the administrative chief deputy for the Harrison County Sheriff's Office and worked there for 13 years. He was a member of the Harley Club of Longview. He enjoyed golf, riding his Harley and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Arthur of Longview; sons, Gary Jonas Arthur of Karnack and Frankie Lynn Arthur and wife, Jennifer, of Flower Mound; stepdaughter, Renee´ Drew of Longview; sister and brother-in-law, Martha Lavonne Josey and husband, R.E., of Karnack; grandchildren, Kayci Arthur, Hunter Arthur, Kate Arthur and Jack Arthur; niece, Whitney Wheeler of Coppell; brother-in-law, Larry Wheeler and wife, Anita, of Coppell; mother-in-law, Dorothy Wheeler, of Longview; and best buddy, "Tigger," his tabby cat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jonas and Martha Arthur. Pallbearers will be Tom McCool, Pudgy Hortman, Dan Lang, Mark Purifoy, Jerry Foley, Bud Foley, Steve Caldwell and Bill Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, Harrison County Posse, Harrison County Reserves, Josey Ranch staff, members of The Harley Club of Longview, board and staff of Telco Plus Credit Union, and all of Mr. Arthur's special neighbors and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Couch and Donna, and everyone at Longview Cancer Center, and to the nursing staff at Good Shepherd Medical Center of Longview.
