Austin, Vicki and Gill SHREVEPORT - A service celebrating the lives of Vicki Vaughan Austin and Gill Edwin Austin is scheduled for noon Thursday, December 27, 2007, in the sanctuary of Shreveport's First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Pat Day officiating. A reception will follow the service in Couch Chapel Parlor. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street Chapel. The Austins who resided at 240 Old Swanson's Landing, Karnack, Texas, were longtime residents of White Oak, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana. Vicki was born in Ruston, Louisiana, December 22, 1955. Gill was born October 11, 1957, in Concord, North Carolina. The Austins moved from this life to life eternal December 22, 2007, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Vicki Austin was an entrepreneur and real estate broker. She was also a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, loving daughter, loyal sister, doting aunt, friend and confidant. Gill Austin was a highly respected petroleum engineer. He was also a committed husband, loving father, devoted son, true brother, engaging uncle, friend and confidant. The Austins were preceded in death by Vicki's father, Benjamin Findley Vaughan; and Gill's parents, Sarah Winston Austin and Dr. Loys Harding Austin. The Austins' legacy will be continued by their surviving family members: sons, Derrick Austin and Trey Austin and wife, Katy; daughter, Paige Austin Gumm and husband, Brett; Vicki's mother, Betty D. Vaughan; Gill's sister, Linda Costanza and husband, Joe; Gill's brother, Steve Austin; Vicki's brother, Benny Vaughan and wife, Laura; and nieces and nephews, Reanna Austin, Morgan and Jason Costanza, Suzanne Ryan and Christopher and Patrick Vaughan.
