Jack H. Bechtold

Graveside services for Jack H. Bechtold, 67, of Longview will be 10 a.m. Saturday 
at Grace Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Fitzgerald officiating.

He died Thursday at his home after a long illness.

He was born March 24, 1921, in Marshall and lived in Longview for 42 years. He was a 
retired captain with the Longview Fire Department with 25 years experience. He was a 
Methodist and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; sons, Jack II of Austin, Chris of Jacksonville, Fla, 
and Cliff of Tampa, Fla; daughters Carolyn Shannon and Susan Miller both of Longview, 
Julie Bussey of Hallsville and Rosemary VanNes of New York City; sister, Nell Cox of 
Kilgore and Lorraine Beavers of Shreveport, La; brothers, H. F of Shreveport, Marvin 
of El Paso and Cliff of Texarkana; and 15 grandchildren.
