Mrs Birdwell Passes Away 
 
Mrs R. W. Birdwell, 53, died at a local sanitarium at 10:30 Wednesday night 
following an operation on July 26. Funeral services are to be held this 
afternoon at 4 o'clock from the family residence on Timpson street with the Rev. 
John L. Whorton, conducting the services, with burial at Grace Hill cemetery. 
Mrs Birdwell is survived by her husband and three children, a son Howard, and a 
daughter, Mrs W.H. Stewart of Longview, daughter, Mrs H. D. Blackshear of 
Dallas, and eight grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters of Dallas and a 
sister of Houston. 

Mrs Birdwell moved to Longview with her family in 1917 and has made her home 
since that time. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist church. 
Relatives from Dallas who are here for the funeral are her brothers, C. W. Holt, 
Farnk Holt and a sister Mrs H. E. Brewer of Dallas, Mrs Frank Hold, Mrs R. A. 
Turner, Marie old and Jesse Davis, also of Dallas.
