Boddie Sr., Lane C. Funeral services for Lane C. Boddie Sr., 84, of Longview, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road, with the Reverend Mike Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Boddie passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Longview. Mr. Boddie was born February 19, 1922, in Goodpine, Louisiana, to Thomas Albert and Minnie Augusta Boddie. He was one of six children. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and had a tour of duty in Italy, France, Rome Arno, Normandy, North Apennines, and the Rhineland as a B-24 gunner/mechanic. He achieved corporal and was honorably discharged in 1945. In 1945, he moved to Longview and started his own business as a painting contractor until his retirement in 1968. He also had sandblasting and waterblasting businesses. Mr. Boddie was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Minnie Boddie; two sisters, Marjorie Kelly and Artis Robertson; one brother, Thomas Albert Boddie; and a grandchild, Darren Boddie. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Lee Boddie of Longview; two sons, Dale Boddie, and Charles Boddie and daughter-in-law, Sandy Boddie; brother, Allen Boddie; sister Cleo Boddie; grandchildren, April Garcia, Seth and Noah Boddie; and great-grandchil-dren, Salvador Donica Lamas and Sierra Oliva Garcia. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening, March 30, 2006, at the funeral home.
