Boyd, Imogene B. KILGORE -- Imogene Bolding Boyd, born October 25, 1924, in Haskell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside on the morning of July 28, 2006. Memorial services for Imogene Boyd, 81, of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Liberty City, with the Rev. Bruce Wells officiating. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday morning at Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, 6:30-8:30 p.m. today. The eldest daughter of B.J. and Iva Bolding, Imogene met her lifelong companion, G.W. "Chub" Boyd, when they were childhood neighbors and together celebrated 64 years of marriage. The couple started their family in Oklahoma and moved to Kilgore in 1966 to help start a family business. She was a dedicated homemaker, rose gardener, and musician, and accomplished at the violin, organ and piano--talents which she shared generously with friends and family. Chub and Imogene enjoyed traveling and cherished their relationships and time with friends from across the country. A charter member of the Laird Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Imogene volunteered 3,837 hours in service to the elderly and infirm. She was a supportive member of First Baptist Church of Liberty City. Imogene was preceded in death by parents Iva and B.J. Bolding; sister, Maxine Evans; and infant son, Gayle Bland Boyd. She is survived by her husband, G.W. "Chub" Boyd of Kilgore; son, Gary W. Boyd and wife, Patricia, of Kilgore; daughters, Ann Ellisor and husband, Ray, of Texarkana, and Cindy Walton and husband, Jerry, of Midland; brother, Lloyd B. Bolding and wife, Evelyn; brother-in-law, H.B. Evans; grandchildren, Gary W. Boyd II and wife, Suelyn, Grant Wayne Boyd and wife, Kristy, Melissa Roberts, Will Yeager and wife, Callie, Amy Walton and Forrest Walton; great-grandchildren, Caroline Boyd, G. William Boyd, Grayson Wayne Boyd, Hannah Davison, Katy Davison and Melynda Roberts; one niece; and four nephews. The family would like to extend thanks for the many caring deeds and expressions of kindness offered during the past year and to extend a special word of thanks to the medical staff of Trinity Mother Francis Hospital and Dr. Clark Langley.
