June 17, 1985 Services Set Wednesday for Joseph Bramlette Joseph B Bramlette Services for Joseph B. Bramlette of Longview will be 3 p.p. Wednesday at the First Methodist Church with the Revs. Dale Horton and William Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery with Rader Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bramlette died Monday morning at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Judge Erskine and Jessie Boring Bramlette. Members of his family were early day residents of Longview. he was a gradute of the University of Texas and of the Harvard Graduate School of Architecture. He served in the Pacific with the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel. A landscape architect, he designed many gardens, both public and private, here in Longview. He developed Huntington Park and built the Bramlette Building in downtown Longview. He supported civic and educational institutions and was active in the Civic Music, The Longview Symphony, The Historical Society and the Museum and Arts Center. He was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church, of which his great-grandfather, B. W. Brown, was a founder in this area. He was generous in his suppor of other area churches. He is survived by a number of cousins, including Paula Bramlette, Mrs. Frank Mondrik, Mr. J.C. Frances jr., Dr. Tom Francis, B. W. Crain, Jr., E. B. Crain, and Dr. W. R. Terrell, all of Longview.
