Wednesday November 12, 1930 Roy Bruner is Killed in Arizona Mr and Mrs J.R. Bruner received a message this morning that their son, Roy Bruner, about 22 years of age, had been killed in an automobile wreck in New Mexico, and that his body was being shipped to Longview for burial. No particulars of his death were given. -------- Thursday November 13, 1930 Body of Bruner to Arrive Here Late Friday Funeral Here Saturday With Rev. Wright in Charge The body of Roy Bruner, son of Mr and Mrs J.R. Bruner, who was killed instantly in an automobile wreck while returning from a holiday excursion near Tucson, Arizona Tuesday, was put on a train in Tucson this morning and will arrive in Longview on the Texas at 5:25 p.m. Friday, according to a telegram received from Tucson early today. A telegram stated that Sessum Christian, son of A. W. Christian of Longview, was slightly injured in the wreck and is now in a Tecson hospital. Bruner was about twenty-six years of age. He and Christian were operating a Piggly-Wiggley store at Lordsdale, Arizona. Bruner attended high school here. Funeral services will be held here at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. The Rev. James R Wright will be in charge of the service. The Knights of Pythia will take charge of the body at the grave.
