Bookout, Earl Dempsey MANSFIELD -- Funeral services for Earl Dempsey Bookout, 85, will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2006, at Blessing Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bookout passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday evening, November 1, 2006, in Longview. Earl was born January 30, 1921, the son of the Rev. Henry Franklin Bookout and Sarah Louise Preston Bookout, of Boston, Texas. He was a native Texan, served our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy, and had many successful business adventures during his lifetime. He is most remembered, however, for his years in the antique business with his wife, Donna. They traveled the U.S. and abroad visiting many cities along the way, buying and selling antiques. Together, they logged many miles doing what they loved best and doing it together. The Bookouts hold the distinct honor of being the most tenured of all currently active dealers for Canton First Monday. They still exhibit monthly in the Civic Center. Earl was also a member of the Maso Published in the Longview News-Journal on 11/4/2006.
