Brittain, James Grady Graveside services for James Grady Brittain, 94, of Longview, will be at 3 p.m. today, March 21, 2007, at Grace Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Coleman officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road. Mr. Brittain passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, at a local nursing home. Mr. Brittain was born October 14, 1912, in Center, to C.F. and Minnie Smith Brittain. He married his wife, Goldie, on May 31, 1941, in Mansfield, Louisiana, and had been a resident of the Longview area since the late 1940s. Mr. Brittain was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a deacon. He was a graduate of LeTourneau College and retired from LeTourneau Industries as a welder. Mr. Brittain was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Kay Brittain, in 1999; and his brother, Elbert Brittain. Mr. Brittain is survived by his wife, Goldie of Longview; son and daughter- in-law, Mike and Kathy Brittain of McKinney; niece, Brandy Gregg and husband, Jason, of Garland; and sister and brother-in-law, Eva Jean and Dalton Jones of Center.
