Bruner, Jewel Funeral services for Jewel Mae Bruner, 86, of Longview, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Ford Chapel of the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dewayne and Claudia Beaty officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road. Burial will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Bruner went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 26, 2007, following a short illness. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and servant to her Lord. Mrs. Bruner was born October 27, 1920, in Cordell, Oklahoma, and she finished high school in West Texas before moving to Longview in 1939. While raising her family, she served as bookkeeper for Archway Cookie Co., and later Leon's Shoe Store in Riff's before retiring in 1983. She taught children's Sunday school for many years and was an active member of the Loyalty Sunday School Class, Bethany Bible Club, and Dorcus WMU Group prior to her death. Þ ¤ Mae Marcott and William R. Jones; husband, James Martin Bruner; and brother, Floyd Marcott. She is survived by her loving family, including her children, Doug Bruner and wife, Linda, of Bonaire, Ga., Merry Kaye Edwards of Longview, and Bill Bruner and wife, Brenda, of Longview; her grandchildren, Kim Bruner of Greenwood, S.C., Lori Bruner of Bonaire, Ga., Jonathan Bruner and wife, Melanie, of Bonaire, Ga., Curt Edwards and wife, Bridgett of Longview; Trey Bruner of Longview, Tara Bruner of Crestline, Calif., and Jason and Brittney Bruner of Longview; and her great-grandchildren, Adam Ahmed of Bonaire, Ga. and Brianna Bruner and Halley Welborn of Warner Robins, Ga. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bennie Christian and Mozelle Maddox; five sisters, Marie Colvin, Mary Rose Bullard, Wilma Elam Taylor, Jean Lewis and Ginger Blessing; two brothers, Lee Wilson and Tommy Reinke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
