Barker, Jewell Rube "J.R."

Memorial services for Jewell Rube "J.R." Barker, 81, of Kilgore, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, 
August 17, 2007, at East Texas Church of the Way at 916 Longview Street in Kilgore, with 
Brother Jimmy Kennedy officiating. Cremation arrangements are by East Texas Funeral Home. 
Mr. Barker died August 14, 2007, at a local care facility.

Born May 17, 1926, in Sweetgum, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War 
II, and enjoyed fishing, dancing and playing 42. Survivors include his wife, Louise Barker; 
son, Tommy J. Barker; and daughter, Carol Ann Cooley.
