Barnes, Bill Bill Barnes, 75, of Gilmer, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at a Longview care center. He was born February 20, 1932, in Delta, County, to Grady and Octavia Barnes. During his working career, Bill was employed in sales at Cloud's Sand Corp. He was a 40-year member of AA and traveled to meetings worldwide. Those preceding him in death were his sister, Aline Talley; and brothers, Glen and Wayne Barnes. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jerry Barnes and wife, Debi of Gladewater, and Gary Barnes and wife, Shanda of Palmer; daughters, Sherry Freeman and husband, Mark of Gilmer, Kerry Haskins and husband, Wesley of Gilmer, and Melinda Barnes of Palmer; sisters, Voncile Schoffiett of Paris, and Pauniece Clancey of Rockwall; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Bill will also be missed by a host of special friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007, at the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Albert Murdock will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The following will serve as pallbearers: C.A. Smithhart, Bobby Evans, Ken Reynolds, Joe McDougal, Steve Marlin and Flint Chalk.
