Bentley, Garth Robert Funeral services for Garth Robert Bentley, 92, of Longview, will be at noon Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road, with the Reverend Tom Loden and Dr. Sam Hopkins officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at 3 p.m. in Martinsville Cemetery of Martinsville, Texas, with Mr. John Sheffield officiating. Mr. Bentley was born February 27, 1915, in Nacogdoches, to Robert Thomas and Martha Alice Taylor Bentley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Longview, was a right-of-way agent and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of first sergeant. Mr. Bentley is survived by his loving wife, JoAnna Bentley of Longview; children, Phyllis Sheffield and husband, John of Pearland, and Priscilla King and husband, Randy of Montgomery; grandchildren, Steven and Katherine Blanchard of Pearland, Lt. j.g. Robert Blanchard, U.S.N., and wife, Anna of Silverdale, Wash., Ben and Heather King of Nashville, Tenn., and Geoffery King of Montgomery; four great-grandsons; and a brand new great-granddaughter.
