Baker, David L. A celebration of life service for David L. "Dave" Baker, 59, of Longview, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 314 N. Henderson Blvd. in Kilgore, with the Rev. Stephen Butts officiating. Service arrangements were made according to David's wishes. David was born January 13, 1948, in Taylor, to Howard O. Baker and Rosalie Melasky Baker. He passed away on November 5, 2007, at his home after a brief illness. David graduated from Taylor High School and was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1970. David's accounting career began in Houston at Arthur Young and Co. He then moved to Lafayette, La., with Crutcher Resources. He moved to Longview in 1982, working for Circle M and the Maxwell Family. In January of 1989, he opened his private Certified Public Accountant office and remained in practice for 18 years. He was dedicated to his clients and his work, but mostly, he was dedicated to his wife and family. David was also a good friend. He was a loyal member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. David was preceded in death by his father, Howard O. Baker. He is survived by his wife, Connie Baker of Longview; daughter, Rebecca Lucier and husband, Michael of Talent, Ore.; stepson, Chris Boehme of Longview; stepson, Jeff Boehme and wife, Maria, and grandchild, Meredith, of Sandown, N.H.; stepdaughter, Dorrie Baker of Talent, Ore.; mother, Rosalie Baker of Round Rock; brothers, Howard Baker and wife, Vannette of Round Rock, and Robert Baker and wife, Grace of Friendswood; also many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Longview Cancer Center. A special thank you is extended to Ilene at Beacon Hospice. Special thanks is also given to Michael and Stephanie. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in honor of David may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1805 S. Mobberly, Longview, TX 75602.
