Ballenger, Ronnie Lynn HENDERSON - Services for Ronnie Lynn Ballenger, 52, of Tatum, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Antioch Baptist Church, located in Henderson, with Pastor Lewis Thompson officiating. Ronnie was born May 22, 1955, in Longview, to Kenneth L. Ballenger and Jackie L. Lewis Ballenger. He grew up in Tatum, where he attended Mayflower schools and later graduated from the Tatum Independent School District. In 1977, he graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. Ronnie spent the majority of his career as an employee of TXU Energy - Luminant where he was adored by many. Ronnie humbly served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a lifelong member of the Antioch Baptist Church where he served in many roles, most recently as deacon and financial secretary. Ronnie's commitment to Christ, humor and generosity are three of his most significant , defining features. In his free time, he enjoyed socializing with others, following the Tennessee Titans and enjoying the many fruits of his labor. The family chose the "Carnival Rose" as the signature flower for his home going celebration as the flower's petals blend yellow, Ronnie's favorite color, and red, his wife, Chi-quita's, favorite color, thereby, uniting the two and their love now and forever. Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Chiquita D. Ballenger of Tatum; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric L. and Stacy Ballenger of Arlington; his son, Derrick L. Ballenger of West New York, N.J.; his son, Timothy L. Ballenger of New York, N.Y.; his daughter, Kimberly D. Ballenger of Beaumont; his grandson, Brandon T. Ballenger of Arlington; his sister, Myrna L. Ballenger of Tatum; his brother and sister-in-law, Hayward L. and Freddie Ballenger of St. Louis, Mo.; and an abundance of nephews, nieces, extended relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that charitable contributions be made to Antioch Baptist Church, P.O. Box 646, Henderson, TX 75652, in memory of Ronnie L. Ballenger.
