Services for Anna Lou Barber are pending from Craddock Funeral Home. Mrs. Barber 
died July 28, 1997, in a local health care facility.

She is survived by a son, Avon, Ardmore.

Anna Lou Barber

Funeral services for Anna Lou Barber will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 1997, at 
Craddock Memorial Chapel. Dr. Douglas R. Miller will officiate. Interment will be at 
Rose Hill Cemetery.

Anna Lou was born Aug. 3, 1899, at Gilmer, Texas, to David and Sally Rundell 
Shackelford. She died July 28, 1997, in a local health care facility.
She moved to Ardmore as a new bride following her marriage to Oscar Doyle Barber in 
Longview, Texas on Dec. 11, 1919. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1982.

She was the owner and operator of a beauty shop in Ardmore for 62 years before her 
retirement. A member of First Christian Church since 1920, she was a member of the 
Naomi Circle.

She is survived by a son, Avon Barber, and his wife, De Maurice, Ardmore; several 
nieces and nephews. Anna Lou was the youngest of 13 brothers and sisters who preceded 
her in death. She was also preceded by a grandson, Terry Barber, on May 21, 1966.

Pall bearers will be Guy H. "Buddy" Sigler, David Hunt, Grantham Jackson, Edgar Cook, 
Burt Gibbs and Elwin Beavers.
