MR. BENNIE "LEROY" BOYD was born June 12, 1919 to Ms. Gatha Dunn and Mr. Sam Boyd Sr. in Longview, Texas.  He passed away on May 22, 2012.

Leroy attended Greenville School. He worked as a farmer and with the Texas Highway Department for many years. 

He joined Pleasant Green Baptist Church at a young age and remained a member until his demise. Leroy met and married Ms. Ruby B. Harper and to this union eight children were born. 

His parents, brother James Harris, a son Robert T. Boyd, a daughter Billie Lister, a granddaughter Tonya M. Woods and two grandsons Victor Boyd and Richard L. Shaw all preceded him in death. 

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Ruby B. Boyd of Longview; seven children, Bennie C. Boyd (Sherry), Dallas, TX; Clyde H. Boyd, Ella F. Boyd, Dora M. Whitaker, James E. Boyd, Annette E. Wallace (Michael) all of Longview and Patsy A. Shaw (Roger), Tatum, TX; one brother, Sam Boyd Jr. (Eulene) of Longview; one sister, Mrs. Rosie Lemuel of Dallas, TX. Leroy was blessed to also have 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild to share his bloodline. Craig Funeral Home.
