Braun, Gary Edwin CULPEPER, Va. - Gary Edwin Braun, formerly of Longview, died November 27, 2007, at his home in Etlan, Virginia, after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 28, 1939, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Lucille Workman Braun and the late Edwin William Braun. He graduated from Triadelphia High School and West Virginia University with a B.S. degree in industrial engineering. He spent two years as a captain in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Later, he moved to Longview, where he lived with his wife, Linda, for 21 years. He worked at Lone Star Steel Co. and retired as executive vice president of operations. After retiring, he moved to Etlan, Virginia (in the Shenandoah Mountains). He loved reading and singing in the church choirs, both in Longview, and Madison, Virginia He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Davis Braun; daughter and son- in-law, Melanie Ann and Don S. McDaniel Jr. of West Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Sally K. and Richard E. Rowe of West Virginia; nephew, Gregory B. Rowe; niece, Katherine M. Baggish; and several cousins. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Presbyterian Church Choir , 1236 Fishback Rd., P.O.
