Services for Verna Bailey, 82, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. today, November 
9, 2007, at the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road. The committal 
ceremony will be conducted in the Welch Garden Court. Burial will be in Memory 
Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at a local nursing home.

Mrs. Bailey was born June 16, 1925, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Henry and Mary 
Denson Milam. She was a member of North Longview Baptist Church. She was a 
cosmetologist for 15 years. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Bailey, in January of 2006.

Survivors include her daughter, Harriet Pearson of Longview; grandchildren, Eve 
Pearson of Dallas, and Tank Pearson and wife, Joy of Longview; sisters, Juanita 
Arthur of Longview, and Joyce Kidwell of Longview; brother, Calvin Milam of Lake 
O' The Pines; and numerous nieces and nephews
